FILE REVIEWS

This new service area has developed out of the TCP annual compliance audits. As well as focussing on a range of compliance issues, TCP file reviews also assess fee earners’ costs updating, interim billing and credit control practices.  This is important because the process then pays for itself. A file review process can have an immediate affect on the bottom line by identifying interim billing opportunities or minimising the risk that you might have to charge a reduced amount because a cost estimate has not been updated.  Regular file reviews also have a longer term benefit because they focus fee earners minds on improvements to their billing practices generally.

Existing clients have found that outsourcing their file reviews to someone with a compliance and auditing background frees up their own fee earning capacity which would otherwise be lost if they conducted reviews themselves.  If the cost of outsourcing is less than the total of lost fee earning hours, reviews have the potential for improving bottom line, as well as ensuring compliant practices generally, then the firm benefits.
