THE COMPLIANCE PARTNER
was launched by Vanessa Shenton in January 2007 to provide solicitors with realistic and pragmatic advice and assistance on the application and interpretation of the SRA Rules and Regulations –
including the new Code of Conduct, Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and the Money Laundering Regulations 2007.
The services provided by
TCP
were carefully devised following consultation with a number of firms in the South East.
Contributors have commented that the range of services meet the needs of the modern High Street practice bearing in mind the changes in regulatory control by the SRA and the need to provide better but cost efficient management for firms.
2008 will see many changes in the field of regulation and the development of new Rules allowing for legal disciplinary practices and the publishing of firms disciplinary and complaints records. As a result of Rule 5 of the Code of Conduct introduced last year, firms will need to develope effective systems of management. A combination of
TCP
services will help satisfy these requirements.
The future will also see many challenges in terms of competition from other players in the legal market and other changes which will affect the way High Street practices will need to run their businesses in the future. An integral part of
TCP
is to provide comprehensive and up to date information in these areas.
